Your go-to guide for DIY Calm Down Bottle inspo!
So you've purchased one of our DIY Calm Down Bottles and you need some pointers on how to create an amazing sensory tool. Well, check out this blog post where we'll give you some great tips and tricks!
You should have received an instruction manual in your bottle so you'll know the basics; remove the silicone ends, empty the packet of crafts into the bottle, fill with warm water, secure the lid, poop the silicone ends back and you're good to go.
Now for the added flair! We've spoken to some of our lovely customers and combined a list of fantastic ideas to make your Calm Down Bottle extra special:
Add some dishwashing liquid for a slow-flowing mixture. We find this works best with lots of glitter and sparkles!
@prettyplaypoppy recommends adding Elmers clear glue to the mixture with some boiling water and shaking well. This also allows for a slow-flowing bottle that's super mesmerizing for little ones. Warning; wait until the bottle cools before giving to kids. See the pink calm down bottle on the right:
We've found that pom poms and sparkly streamers make the best and most interesting crafts to add to your calm down bottle. Some of our customers have bought streamer (or cheer) pom poms from the Reject Shop or Dollar Bargain and cut up little pieces to add!
Googly eyes! Works really well with the mint calm down bottle especially and the kids love them.
@thewondersofplay made a beautiful calm down bottle with fresh flowers inside which you can check out below:
Keep your bottle fresh by emptying out the old mixture and adding new crafts every few months! The kids will love the endless creative opportunities x
Create a theme for your calm down bottle! Some ideas are nature, underwater, floral and rainbow. @harwinnfdc did an ocean theme for their blue calm down bottle and it was fantastic! See below;
