Valentine's Day Craft Ideas

In celebration of Valentine's Day, we have collated some of our favourite Valentines' Crafts for you and your special little one to do! 

 

#1 Valentine's Calm Down Bottle

We loved this Valentine sensory bottle idea from pocketofpreschool.com filled with love, hearts & glitter - all the best things! 

 

Valentines Themed Calm Down Bottle

 

What you need:

  • empty bottle
  • fill halfway with water
  • add 1/2 cup of clear glue
  • add red glitter and a few drops of red watercolor
  • add Valentines sequins
  • fill to the top with water, leaving about 1/2 inch space at the top so there is room to shake

#2 Heart Sun Catchers

If you're planning on spending Valentine's day out in the great outdoors, these heart sun catchers from iheartcraftthings.com

Heart Sun Catcher

What you need: 

  • red and pink paper plates
  • confetti
  • clear contact paper
  • scissors
  • pen or pencil for tracing

Method: 

1. Trace a heart on the bottom of your paper plate then cut the heart shape out. 

2. Cut out two large circles in clear contact paper. 

3. Peel the backing off one of the contact paper circles and place it onto your paper plate, covering the heart shape completely.

4. Sprinkle your confetti over the contact paper inside the heart shape on your paper plate.

5. Peel the backing off your second circle of contact paper and cover the other side of the paper plate, sealing the confetti in place.

6. Lift up your paper plate to reveal the gorgeous colors of the tissue paper confetti showing through the clear contact paper. 

 

#3 Valentine's Sensory Tub

Who doesn't LOVE a sensory tub?! This one from thepaigediaries.com is a fabulous pink explosion!

Valentine's Day Themed Crafts

What you need:

  • 2 tbsp of dish soap
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Pink food colouring
  • Mixer

Method:

  • In a bowl, add 2 tbsp of dish soap and 1/4 cup of water.
  • Add food colouring
  • Mix on high for 2 minute.
  • The foam should be able to form stiff peaks that hold their shape.
  • Scoop it out into your container and repeat as necessary until you have the desired amount of foam!
